Mermaid ruffle lampshade

The Birth of Venus by Botticelli has always been one of my favourite paintings and a huge inspiration to me as an artist.
 
The iconic image of Venus emerging from the sea upon her shell evokes ideas of femininity, birth and transformation — themes that feel particularly meaningful to me as this piece was created during my own pregnancy.
 
My long-standing obsession with mermaids also inspired me to reimagine Venus with a flowing tail, bringing a little more of the mythical and fantastical into the piece.
 
Hand-sculpted and hand-painted in a traditional blue Delftware-inspired design, this lampshade combines classical imagery with a playful, contemporary twist. Each detail has been carefully considered and painted by hand, creating a unique piece designed to become a statement within your home.

Hole diameter: approx. 42mm — suitable for standard E27 and E26 bulb fittings.
